A friend is storing his 1939 MG-TB in a huge garage. The place has about 15 Saabs of varying stripes, including about 5 Sonnets. Here are two that were parked together.

Cool.

Love all SAABs but especially the Sonett (note weird, Swedish spelling).

If I can find the time and room, at some point I'd like an early Sonett like the red one in Mark's photo above.

My son-in-law has a modern 9-3 and I owned a 93B many years ago. Both neat cars.

Here's my friend George's SAAB Quantum race car; he has two of them. He and his son just raced both of them last weekend at Thompson.

Love old Saabs too (of course) - would love a two stroke. Nial, the back of your friend's Quantum (and its name) looks like it should be used for space travel (or time travel)

Today's trivia: Not named after any of Shakespeare's stuff but for the Swedish expression Sa Natt, meaning "so neat" IIRC some of the early ones had two strokes and four on the tree? Only SAAB we ever owned was an '86 9000 Turbo, which really was the beginning of the end of the quirky SAABS, but it was a great car and really chewed up the turnpike miles. It's 170 hp was considered "performance car" territory at the time and it could be a bit torque-steery. Still mis that car.

Wow, Nial, that Sonett looks like a space-craft... screaming for flames out of that rear.

The orange one in my photo was in MINT condition (inside and out). The red one had a roll-cage and looked like a nice racer.

Nial, that is one bizarre looking car. Looks like something from Lost in Space.
