RX 7 Rear end option

Jack funny you should say that the neighbors are getting good at that, I made the mistake of asking my wife to help me put the bonnet back on, learned quickly call the neighbor, only been married for 16 years so still learning.
Cheers Phil

good work, a dripless sprite maybe there is hope for me.

Course Phil if you didn't want to narrow the rear end....

Phil, Spridgetech is now a sponsor here - they sell a fiberglass hood - might be a solution for you.

Hello,

I have been slowly working on my RX 7 rear end conversion. The wheels are back on and I have run the car up to 60 mph on my lift. So far everything seems ok , as soon as a nice spring day arrives I will go for a ride.

I seem to have a problem with bleeding my brakes. I have spent several hours bleeding and re bleeding the brakes. i have checked and rechecked that I have no leaks. I have had a very knowledgeable friend come by and also help me bleed the brakes, we are convinced no air in lines.

The pedal must be pumped 3 times to get good brake pedal pressure, then the brakes work ok. As soon as you take your foot off the pedal and then reapply the brakes the pedal goes to the floor and you must again pump the brake pedal 3 times.

The back brakes are RX7 calipers, i have spoke to several people that say the master cylinder should handle the extra back calipers. The front are MGB calipers. Before the conversion my brakes worked perfect. The onl;y thing I can think of is some dirt got into the master cylinder and marked the rubbers. I am planing to order a rebuild kit and try that.

Any ideas, or experience with a four caliper setup.
Thanks Phil

sounds like there is still air. Or, did you clean everything or change the type of fluid? I was amazed how much cr*p came out of my splitter.

Good Morning JP,

The fluid is clear as water. I did not pull apart the master cylinder, just changed the calipers.
Must be the master cylinder, or maybe the caliper volume is to much for the master.
Phil
