Who has used the Magnet Paint product called "Chassis Saver" and what kind of results did you get? Can it be brushed on without looking crappy?
 
I've been using a 3M product (Rust Fighter, 08891), at $38 a quart it's not cheep. I use a pet medicine dispenser and a small diameter section of hose. Sucked it out of the quart container and shoot it into everyplace sheet metal comes together as a seem like at the heam seam at the bottom of the car door. I inject enough until it starts to run out of the rain drains. It will drip for hours so park on the street or put some paper or cardboard under it. The product looks like chocolate milk and feels like a waxy thin grease when dry. It never really hardens and is still slightly gooey. I treat all my vehicles and it's been working great here in the salt country of Michigan. I really notice a difference.
 
Great idea. Your product sounds similar to what I have. Never thought about using such a small applicator to really isolate the product at specific points. I'll try to use this stuff in the same way in case it's messy and not something I want on the general surface area of the sheet metal. Thanks, Michigan Ted.

I'm not sure what, but it's something.

Winter was not kind to my Bugeye-Midget, I need to do a lot of anti-rust work this spring. Driving through the winter takes a toll.
 
Some guys are using this stuff on all bottom surfaces that are unfinished and are exposed to the weather. They also say it melds to the metal and is next to impossible to remove. I don't want to put the next guy in a place where he is stuck with something he hates and can't strip it or blast it off. I'm old and won't be the last to own this car. Should I worry about the next guy? Actually, it's not the next guy I worry about, I just have too much respect for the car to alter it past the point of no return. Silly me.
 
What's the effect of putting the stuff on surfaces with existing 'surface' rust?
Does it also stop existing rust, encapsulate it, convert it?
 
Waxoil is something I see mentioned a lot on British (actually based in Great Britain) forums.

This stuff is supposed to dry really hard and seal the air (and moisture) away from the metal. It bonds to metal and you can apply it directly over rust as long as all loose, flaky material is first removed. I haven't used it yet, (I bought a gallon) but guys I know that have used it say it really works.
