When I drive my Longbridge model it suddenly looses power after about 10 miles.
When I take the foot off the gaspedal, it dies.
After waiting for about 10 seconds, it starts without problems!!!!

I've changed the fuel filter, sparks and coil but it still has the problem!
I have a 123 ignition installed!

any advice is lile always welcome.

Usually it's an ignition problem, coil etc. but you said you changed that. Maybe it's just a loose coil wire? Not familiar with a 123 ignition system?

If it's a fuel delivery problem it can be checked readily when it stops check the carb bowls to see where the level is.

Let us know what you find.

I hate to mention as you probably already checked but have you verified that the white/black wire is still connected soundly to the cutoff switch. The wire may be resting on the switch connector as the result of a light spring-imposed bend developed from it previous bend and moves off the connector with car movement from changing accelerator action.

This type of action caused me 2 weeks of frustration in 1970 when the car would shut off with no warning and then a few second later run as if nothing had previously happened. While tearing into all sorts of potential issues under the hood, I looked up in time to hear my wife pass by and make the sarcastic comment “Did you check in the trunk?” Thank heaven I didn’t respond and to this day she has no idea the problem WAS in the boot.

sorry that I couldn't get back any earlier, but then again, better late than never!

Just to let you know that it turned out to be the fuel pump.

Thanks for all the great tips!
