According to my Heritage Certificate, the build date for Ruby Redcar was Oct. 9, 1959. Today is her 50th birthday.

I think I'll take her out for lunch. I know a nice sandwich place, but she'd probably be happier with the local Mobil station and a nice quart of 20W-50. In any case, it's a great day for a loop around the Palos Verdes peninsula.

Ruby thanks you all for your good wishes.

We took a nice loop around the Palos Verdes peninsula around noon today. I stopped at my favorite cafe in Lunada Bay for a sandwich. I offered Ruby a can of oil, but she told me she was still full from the last one. We stopped briefly at the Whale Watch center next to the Point Vicente lighthouse, but of course this is still a couple months shy of the beginning of the migration.

Instead of just looping through San Pedro, we went up over the hill, with its twisting climbs (however short) and dips. She enjoyed the exercise. It's the closest thing in LA to the kind of road she was made for. Someday I've got to get her out where she can show her stuff. Bugeyes just weren't designed for the Big City.
 
Hi Steve,

Man, You should bring her out to the "Up-State, SC" area! There are more curves, twists, Up & Down roads than you can imagine! Its just great & I`ve only been on a few of them.

There would be a nice "B`Day" gift for Ruby Redcar!
