Routing brake lines for Toyota 4 pot conversion

Any thoughts how I should route this nice SS cable I purchased from Ted of TS Imports? It seems awful long to me but I'm no expert. Either hits rubber on tire or conflicts with bumper on shock pan. Darn, maybe I should have stuck with stock calipers?

Also, does the caliper clip ride on the rotor? I can't believe that is the case but that is how they shipped from Rock Auto.

Those hoses are too long. Looks like they are for the TR4/TR6 where they have to go around to the front side of the suspension. This thread shows the arrangement on my car. I had to make the extra bracket. Also, notice that I left off the springy things...didn't have them...don't miss them. I used cotter pins where the long spring is used to hold the brake pad pins in place. Now that I think about it, are you using an 11" or a 10 3/4" rotor. If it's 11", maybe that's why the spring is hitting the rotor.

The important item is the length of that hose. Call Ted and see what he has to say.

I believe the end of the clip should be bent upwards more so that it doesn't touch the rotor.

My clips are installed the same way but yours looks 2b thicker wire. Just bend it up a bit to just miss the rotor.

Thanks for the tips about the clips. I can easily bend those up.


Ted asked me to measure the line and return to him and he'd get it cut to size. I'll either do that or return and use the short hard pipe adapter and home-fabbed bracket, similar to what Art did.

Thank for the tips. I really enjoy this forum and have lots more challenges ahead of me in coming months.
