Howdy gang:

I thought I'd share something interesting I saw on the streets of London yesterday. I had a quick business trip to Her Majesty's capital at the beginning of the week, and after my meetings, I had an hour to kill before I had to head to Heathrow. I wandered down Picadilly Road and spotted, much to my surprise, an old Routemaster bus. I loved the Routemaster, and much prefer it to the modern double-deckers that now run through the city. I did a little research, and it appears that there are still a few Routemasters running in the city on what are called Heritage Bus Routes.

For those of you who are like me, and will always associate London with the classic Routemaster, this was a great discovery!

Here's a photo of the bus rolling down Picadilly:

Thanks I intend to go back one day and will look for the Heritage Routes. Took a tour 20 years ago on one. Fun, history, and a great way to orient yourself in a strange city that you just arrived in with your new bride, one small duffel each and no reservations.

The Routemasters and the red phone booths, soon all gone.

London has always been a changing place. Completely burned in the 1600s (the "great fire"), completely bombed and much destroyed in the 1900s in WWII.

But, the English stay the same, thank goodness! :yesnod:
