Rough running and backfiring

woo hoo! pics and progress reports please.

I LOVE cheese. :jester:

Doc...we're not making cheese any longer or I'd send you a BIG batch!

We did everything you guys suggested and the plugs stayed clean last night. This morning we gritted our teeth and went to the nearest town 7 miles away to hopefully put fuel in her from a pump instead of from a can. She ran beautifully! Thanks again. Some pics attached.

Looks great! keep driving!

You're playin' outside th' yard!!!

YAY!!!

We drove her 40 miles today and took some winding backroads through the "hollers"...INCREDIBLE!! She ran great. This is why we bought her and what we've been hoping for since October. It wouldn't have happened this soon without all of you guys. Thanks!

Now begins the "getting to know you" phase. All the little idiosyncratic noises and vibrations... and what they all are. These are very tactile cars, you can feel it if there's something goin' on. But it takes time and familiarity to establish a "base line" for what's proper and normal.

ENJOY!!!

Gary,
You know the best thing is now you understand your SU carbs and how to adjust them. You'll do this w/ quite a few components/assemblies on your journey. And doc is correct, you'll get to know your car VERY intimately and you can't beat the feeling when for fix something and keep her on the road.
Good luck and enjoy. I've owned MGB's continously since 1967 and have enjoyed the experience! (some days more then others)

I understand what you're saying. It really is great to begin to understand what you are doing and why. Carla and I are really enjoying the process and now even more.

Gary -

Let me know when you plan a run SW. We can meet up somewhere, as you're only a couple hours from here, I believe.
