Interesting opinions/approaches. I don't have the skills, equipment or dedicated time to do the body-off resto of my Daimler. It is now in the 3rd year at a very qualified restorer's shop, and I guess I will have about 35k in the resto by the time it's done. (Man, that chrome replating is pricey) But...I am not counting! I intend to drive the wheels off it (not literally, done that already)while I still can. At 70+, I know the time to enjoy the cars we love is NOW!!! And also the reason I bought one that was restored in the late 80's to be my driver while I wait. Bottom line- do what works for you and keep a smile on your face.
