Rostyle Wheels: Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Pea

Gentlemen:

Tomorrow I am scrapping the remains of a 1972 Midget I've been parting out.

It has four Rostyle wheels. They are okay, but I think one might even be bent. I don't think there is any market for these, so I'm taking the wheels to the scrap yard with the rest of the car.

If anyone has a need for these let me know before tomorrow. I've also got a few other spare parts that are going with the car (hood, trunk lid, rear ed w/o diff, windshield frame, axels) as well.

Take the axles out. they bring a few $ on ebay, and it is always good to have spares.

Early or late rostyles?

Agreed, save the axles - they typically sell for a decent amount on ebay. At least enough to buy yourself a few beers

So, they're just plain old Rostyles, not the early ones.

The '72 had the later "common" rostyles. I have a set of early ones in my basement. I'm waiting for them to turn to gold.

Actually, I think I might build a little trailer to pull behind my car and I want to use the wheels so that they have a common spare with the car.

True, Trevor...but, along the way, somebody might've put the earlier ones on it.

No real value unless you find someone that wants a set badly. I personally think they look better than the later ones.

I'll tell you one thing from my personal experience this weekend, a little fresh paint really makes the Rostyles stand out.
Even if it's brushed on Rustoleum!!

I quite like later Rostyles. In fact I'm putting some on my frogeye having swapped it back from wire wheels. Paid UK ÂŁ5.00 each for them (about two cents at the mo). & ÂŁ30 each for sand blasting & re-painting.

So do I  So 71 was the last year with the old rostyles? What years did they put them on?

Re: Rostyle Wheels: Speak Now or Forever Hold Your

They were introduced with the thin bumpers and were changed when they went to RWA, so basically '70 and '71.

Could use a set, yes....PM me....I've got 5 but have not run therm out yet to see if they're all good.
