Got the chance to get up close and personal with this car at the Pinehurst Concours this year. It sounds even better than it looks. The Petersen Rep said they purchased the car for $150,000 several years ago and it's now insured for 15 MILLION. I noted that it had exactly the same tail light lens and windshield wiper motor as my TR3..........the rest of course, was quite different. It's a beauty.

I know styling wise it is not as clean as an e-type or even a d-type, but these cars are just so cool, as Jay says, a road going version of the car that won Le Mans what, 3 times? Steve McQueen ownership or not, I think I'd have to say coolest street machine on the planet.
 
At the Santa Fe Concorso a few years back one of the regulars brought his 'driver' XKSS:

He didn't even bother to wash it beforehand... as I recall there were fast food wrappers on the floorboards. But he sure knew how to enjoy it:
