I have decided to install steel rocker shaft spacers on my TR4A engine rebuild. There is a split opinion on their value but I decided to go with them. I received a set from Rimmer no instructions but it’s pretty obvious where they go. The important info I need is what should the gap be between the spacer and the pedals. This can be achieved by the use of shims and tweaking the pedal location a little when clamping them down. I searched the WWW, and found various threads in the topic from minimal gap, whatever that means to .010 which seems large.
Does anyone have any knowledge on what is a good running clearance without getting bogged down in thermal expansion explainations
Thanks
