Rocker shaft plug/screw delima

After cleaning up my rocker arm assembly, I discovered deep scoring in the rocker shaft. Couldn't find and cause in the bushes of the rocker and ordered new shaft from MM. Shaft came with plugs in both ends. I tried to remove the screw plug from the old shaft but despite PB blaster and heat, it would not budge. Do I have to remove one of the plugs from the new shaft and replace with the screw from the old shaft? If so, any suggestions for removing the the stubborn plug?
HELP!

FYI: Talked with MM support and learned that the replacement shaft uses press in plugs at both ends. No big deal on the plug.

Jim,
Yes, the Moss rocker shaft comes ready to install and make sure the pedestals line up with the oil holes. Lube everything up and make sure the rockers rotate easily on the shaft once installed.

I asked about this once myself. What I couldn't figure out was why Moss was asking $15.99 for the plug (p/n 328-290) and only $17.99 for the whole shaft! Then someone mentioned the plugs come pre-fitted. Got a refund on the plug I'd bought--you have to wonder, why does Moss even bother listing it?.
