Rocker assembly

Jack, thanks for the insight and I'll do just that. Funny how I look at the used parts market without thinking.

Speaking of rocker shafts...

I just compared the new rocker shaft to the old one (1500 engine). The oil feed hole at the back of the new one is noticeably smaller than the old one. Something to be concerned with?

Probably; I'll post a photo later (off to in-laws for Easter). No idea how much this impacts oil pressure. Just seems odd that the new one is that much smaller.

Rocker arms could not effect overall oil pressure unless the oiling orfice in cylinder head feeding the rocker assembly from the block was increased. I don't think I would worry alot about the size of the oiling hole in the shaft unless it was greatly different, you're not trying to get alot of oil up there, there no great demand there, just enough to fill the shaft so the rocker arms at the shaft get oil, and the sprayer spray the valve springs and valves and cools them a bit. You'd probably do more harm than good trying to mess with it, with trying to get drilling debris out of the shaft.

Ok, thanks Hap. I won't mess with it then.

I noticed the rocker arm has a drilling and a "groove" machined into it for each arm. I'm assuming the drilling is the feed/supply from the shaft and the "groove" supplies the "sprayer" holes in the arms?
