Hey guy's,

Anyone know if the rocker arm assembly on a pre 67 B will work in an MGA 1500??? The A's mounting brackets are made of what appears to be aluminum while the B's appear to be of a stronger metal...

I need to rebuild my A's rocker assembly and thought that I just as well replace it with a stronger version.

OR am I way off?

I figured it out... yep, they are interchangeable....

And there is no advantage in going to the later pedestals.

Make sure you use a new shaft though - they are almost always thrashed. And rebush the rockers, and have the tips reprofiled, and.....

The genesis of my question --

I am in the process of rebuilding my B, part of which is the rebuilding of the rocker assembly - with new bushings and shaft...

I have been intending to rebuild my A's rocker and ordered two shafts and bushing sets...one for the B and the other for the A... Since the A is on the road and driven at the slightest provocation, I figured that I would find another rocker arm, rebuild it and replace the rocker in the A in a few hours rather than taking the car off the road for a week or so while I have the machine shop replace the bushings and shaft...

There are several B rocker assemblies on ebay and none specifically listed for the A..
