Does anybody have a version of the volume 2 so I could get or buy? Buying from TRF is a pain in the but without this volume 2 catalogue.

Thanks

Yvan

Amen brother!

I'm originally from PA, and would like to support the home state's economy. Not having, or being able to get, a volume 2 just doesn't make sense!
Last time I talked with someone there, it was to be available soon, but I haven't heard!

I've been waiting over 15 years for the "Soon to be Published" GT6 catalog from TRF. But I still ordered from them, using the TR6/250 and Spitfire Catalogs, along with the database pricelist file. Now that you can search their on-line database the paper catalog is less critical, but it sure would be nice to finally get one. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/england.gif

Been dealing with the TRF for many years, good parts. Finally got feed up with thier bad service this Christmas.Sent them an explantion by email, never heard back. Kind of a shame, would like to see them prosper.

I like TRF, alot. Their tech advice is the best anywhere.
The others don't come close. It is a tough business and they do the best that can be done.

My biggest issue with TRF, who profess to love and support TR-7's, is the amount of "out of stock" items. I'm still waiting for windshield wipers when I know I could get them elsewhere.

I like to support them because of their insistence on quality and their technical knowledge but I also need to use my car. More often than not, whether my Spitfire or my TR-7, a call to TRF is for naught because they don't have the part in stock. Imagine my surprise when the item was the Spitfire rear spring! Vic Brit sent it immediately and it was a long lasting one, too.

Best wishes,

Jeff

I too like TRF and I appreciate that they use the original numbering system for parts, mostly. This means I have to have a factory parts catalog, but that's an invaluable resource in itself.

The other vendors with their own numbering systems make it difficult to compare and be certain you are getting the exact item, or something similar that someone has decided "will do".

TRF's biggest problem is backorders. Just a couple months ago I received a post card that my exhaust system ordered in 1999 has finally arrived!

TRF's focus seems to be on the IRS cars, which is fine.

All the U.S. vendors would do well to expand their inventory with some of the high quality parts being offered by Cambridge, Revington, Racestorations and others in England.

After 21 years in the advertising business, I can tell you that producing a catalog and distributing it is a very expensive and time-consuming task. The Internet is rapidly changing this aspect of the business and has also made finding and acquiring parts a whole lot easier than it was in the late 1970s when I first started working on LBCs.

But in the late 70s there were 2 Triumph dealers in my home town... yes, I remember the nasty look they would give me when I told them it was for a '58 TR3.

FWIW, my recent experience with TRF has been excellent. The orders, though large, have been mostly the common stuff and most of that from their 'web specials' catalog.
