Leaving Chucktown tomorrow to drive to the great state of Illinois, Champaign, to pick up son finishing his first year in college.
I'll be the tired looking one driving the rental soccer mom car!

Travel safe!

Have "stuff" to bring back

Though I had an epiphany last night
for what I am spending on the trip ,we could have chucked all the stuff and bought new .
He could have flown home

If he's gonna be there for a few more years, maybe he could get a storage unit near campus over the summer.

Normally we would Greg,
He's bailing out of U of I and continuing somewhere in SC

Wish I would have known. I work in downtown Champaign at CompleteCare Pharmacy.

I am leaving for Overland Park, Kansas on Friday morning in the Roadmaster to attend Bill Young's memorial service. I'll be home on Sunday.

The roadmaster is your car?

If you would, please offer my condolences. Bill was a good guy.

No, the Roadmaster is owned by a NFP organization, The British=American Deviant Automotive Sportscar Society (B.A.D.A.S.S.) A group of us built the car over a period of about five years and use it for educational purposes and displays. Bill Young was one of the integral members of the group and was serving as organizational president when he passed, hence our desire to get the car to Kansas for his memorial. I will be leaving the car with Bill Davidson who will be campaigning the car from Kansas City and points west.

Here's a good picture of Bill Young taken during one of the Roadmaster work weekends.

Better than my Fairview Inn

I kid you not. I stayed at the Hampton Inn at Jamestown, NY. All was good until I shut off the lights.....ever have that feeling someone was watching you? It was all on .

Heck, I turned on the lights. Nothing. Turn them off and there was someone watching me. Shiver.

I checked the closets, bathroom & yes, under the bed. Finally slept (kinda) with the lights on.

Wife thinks this stuff is cool. We both head out to Ithaca and stop in Jamestown.

I tell the girls behind the desk that there hotel is haunted. Their response? " We know!! Cleaning people quit all the time."

Check in and get a room on the opposite side of the hotel from last time.

I toss open the curtains and there is a cemetery the size of Newark out the window.

I stay at Findlay Lake now ;)
