We are taking our recently finished '64 TR4 on its first long roadtrip! Santa Fe, NM to Evergreen Colorado and back. Over 700 miles round trip. All two lane back roads through the mountains... We are so excited. Just wanted to share!

That is great news! Best wishes for the adventure. I'm doing a slightly longer route (about 8000 miles longer) in the fall, but in my ol' Mercedes-Benz.

Be sure to keep us posted with pictures and stories.

Tom

Sounds like an adventure! I would like to take my TR6 on a trip like that one day.
Your car looks great!

Reminds me of the '64 I had when it was a new car. Only difference is mine had painted wires. Still the favorite car I have ever owned.
Yours is beautiful, enjoy!

Be sure to give her some wheel time...

Great to see a happy couple!
Enjoy Chileman, have a fantastic trip in your great looking car! Smile all the time.

What a great picture. Having fun. What a car can do!

(Imagine if you were in a '68 Buick hardtop. But then, again, what if that's how you met)

Thanks guys! I will post some pictures when we get back... Tool kit packed, car tuned.. We are ready to roll first thing in the am! Happy independence day!

Sounds like a great time. Good luck.

These cars seem to love to be driven. I have take my TR4A on several fairly long road trips, ~500 miles or so and it always seems to be running better the nearer to the end of the trip.

I always found...
Running better or on a flat bed!

Got back yesterday afternoon. Over 750 miles, Crossed several passes at 10000 feet. Never overheated, the car ran perfectly! Pictures to follow...

Congrats on the successful trip! I'm eager to see how you photo-documented the drive; I need ideas for my own upcoming adventure.

Thanks.
Tom
