Rivergate 5 speed question.....

Well after walking away from it, then coming back the next day, the rear trans mount went right in.

It's all bolted down but sitting in the drivers seat and looking down at the trans through the 'shifter hole', the trans seems shifted over to the left, close to the driver.

Is that just the way it is with these kit, or will it center itself out after I install the driveshaft?

Any tips/tricks with the drivershaft....seems to me I read something about stuffing newspaper?

Thanks

It isn't shifted that much to the left. Go back and look at the ribcase tranny shifter remote and it'll make sense.

When converting to the 5-speed Datsun box, the shifter is moved off quite a bit to the left. Paul A. cuts off the standard Sprite shifter and welds it to the right side of the Datsun shifter. That re-centers it and allows for the Spridget shift knob.
