Just to say how thankful we were in Houston to have missed the worst, and how sorry for those in the direct path. We sheltered in place here in West Houston with no damage to the house or Healey - just a big mess to clear up in the garden.

Hope other Healeyites in the area were also as lucky.

Hi Keoke,

I believe Patton evacuated to relations in Jackson Mississippi. Regarding Plano - they were well to the north and west of the hurricane so would not have seen any severe winds.

OK Mbrooks I was not sure where Plano was situated but there are a gob of Healey people there. I guess Patton will get in touch a little later.Thanks ---Keoke
 
We drove back last night. I-10 is right through the worst of Rita's path, and we had to bypass into Lake Charles to get home. I know it's cliche, by it did look like a war zone. Nearly every house that we saw had damage, many severe. I cannot imagine what would have happened if it followed the original path and hit Houston dead on.

AFAIK, the Gulf Coast Healey Club made it though pretty good. We are having to cancel our planned outing to Lake Livingston due to damage at our host's lake house. As for our place, lots of leaves in the pool (I have to take the filter apart tonight) but we're fine.
