RIP Neil Armstrong

Pioneers. Not many left.

We shared a birthdate.

Remember watching him step onto the moon in the college student union... those were the days when there was only one TV in the dorm.
Sad to lose a hero like him.

Farewell to a true hero

"Houston - Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed."

A truly honorable man.

Tom

A real hero, not many of those left nowadays.

Truly sorry I missed that!

What you miss when disconnected for a day, been photographing Latin music and dance all day

(currently in the process of downloading 3000 photos onto my computer!)

Really sad to hear about this, definitely a true hero has been lost... And sorry to hear about Neil Young too...

There was a highly classified aspect of that first moon mission that only now can be revealed.

Well you know how it goes in a situation like this: "Old man look at my life, I'm a lot like you were," :jester:

Seriously though, a generation is passing.

It's been a doubly tragic day. Not only did Astronaut Neil Armstrong die today, but according to NBCNews, so did astronaut Neil Young.

(But to be fair, it is easy to confuse an astronaut with a space cadet)

Neil Young didn't walk on the moon, but I'll but he took many trips to outer space.

To be fair, Neil Armstrong didn't have any hit records

He never did say what sound stage they used for that mission , did he?

Just heard he's to be burried at sea, what a rip off!

I'da like to have seen something more fitting, be set loose in space or cremation upon re entry.

Not necessarily, just depends on the coffin (and the hearse)
