Looks like actor Rip Torn didn't learn any lessons from his first arrest for DUI. Now he's been arrested for breaking into a bank!

Although if he was in as bad a shape as when he was arrested for DUI then perhaps he just sort of "fell" into the bank as he was walking by! (AFter watching teh video of his rant at teh police station, it is difficult to fathom that he was found NOT GUILTY in his earlier arrest for DWI!) (His Lawyers were Judge Judy's sons). What are the chances any of us would get off?

Wasn't he in Men In Black? If so,he looked a lot better then.

Yes, he was...that was a few years ago and probably had a ton of makeup on!

Maybe he was feeling "Nixonish" and wanted to try a break in to remind himself of the critical acclaim he earned playing the President.

Hard to say what his motivation was - or even if he had any motivation (may have just been too much booze to know what he was doing)

I feel so sorry for someone who obviously has addiction issues and it becomes so public. For some...it takes rock bottom to wake up. Maybe this will be his wake up call.

Sad. I always liked his roles in movies. Alcohol is such a wonderful thing.

Addiction is part of what we teach about in the NAMI Family-to-Family class I teach. You're right - sometimes it takes them hitting rock bottom - and even then, the addiction keeps them in its grip!

Sad situation. One of my all time favorite movies is Where
the Rivers Flow North. Just bought the DVD.. Great sound track.
Hope it's all a big old misunderstanding for Rip's sake.
Looking bad at the moment.
