Hi Guys!
Will a 15x6 rim fit on a TR3?
6" seams kind of wide

That would be too wide for any corresponding tire. 165/80x15's on my 4.5 in rims fill the space pretty full but I do have spacers to mount the wires without bolt shortening.
I suspect a 5 in. rim would be usable but just.
 
Depends a great deal on the backspacing of the rims, and the tire size you mount on them. I was running 205/55-15 tires on 5.5" TR6 rims (which have a fair amount of negative offset). Took some massaging of the sheet metal, and they still rubbed just a bit. But the 185/65 and 195/50 tires fit with no adjustments whatsoever.
