Hey, are there any Riley guys out there. I recently bought a 1934 Riley Imp and am looking for some sort of support group (read mental help here). I am finding that there aren't many here in the southeast that I can find. I would love to find others.

I just purchased a '34 Lagonda and researched Rileys as well during my quest.

I'd love to know where you got it. In the US there won't be much support(I could be wrong) as I don't beleive they were ever officially exported here. But there are clubs in the UK which will have a newsletter and offer some support and a spares service. As you probably guessed there are a few dealers in the UK and Belgium which have some spare parts.

You may also want to check out www.prewarcar.com which usually has some Riley gear.
 
Not sure where you are in Florida but a member of my club owns this Riley. PM me if you want contact info. He is in Apopka. Also, Kip Motors (www.kipmotor.com) is likely your source for parts if you didn't already know. beautiful cars both (Riley & Lagonda)
 
Thanks for both replies. The Lagonda was a choice for me as well. I got the car from a private owner in Holland and had it shipped to Jacksonville. I have found a couple of suppliers in the U.K. and actually found the car on the Prewar Cars website. I was not aware of the Kip Motors site and really appreciate it.
 
I'll try to do this. I'm not the most savvy computer guy. I haven't figured out how to get this computer to leak oil yet and I don't understand how something runs with out having S.U. carburetors attached!!! [image]DSC01838[/image] [image]DSC01839[/image] [image]DSC01842[/image]
 
Looks like you're having a little trouble with the photos.

The '[image]https://[/image]' can be used to insert photos in your text, but only if you have first put them up on a web site somewhere. I have one of my own, and a lot of companies provide free sites, and there are some that host photos for you that could be accessed from the BCF.

The other thing you might do is check the box at the bottom of the posting "I want to preview my post and/or attach a file"- this will then let you browse the photos on your own computer and select one (just one) that may then appear as a clickable attachment to your post.

And then there's the possibility of using the "Photos" section to upload a set of pictures to the BCF, see that section for the instructions on formating your pictures and how to do it.

Yup that's the car except mine is black with an oxblood interior. Every attempt I make at putting up the photos hasn't worked. My computer saavy buddy tells me that the photo file is too big to upload to the site. The resolution is too great and the site can't handle it. When I get some photos that will fit I'll post them.
 
Not sure what software you are using with your digital camera. I have an HP and as part of their editing program, I can scale the pics to smaller sizes (like 3 1/2 X 5) These will load if that helps.

Another possibility is to upload them somewhere else on the net (somewhere free) and give us a link. We really are curious
 
I use a really good bit of software to scale pics - irfanview, you can download it free.
