There isn't a single answer to that since there are a couple different gear sets. See this link:

At some point, I'll have to look up the different ratios and add them to this page. The ratios will be in the different shop manuals specification section.
Thanks Gerard, I didn't realize there was so much complexity to it all. I do remember reading there was a difference between the Mk3 and Mk4 ribcase ratio. Couldn't find the info in Bentley's but it's really not all that important. The Lotus group has a system for comparing transmission ratio's and that got me thinking.

Well, just to give a bit more info the formula compares different transmission's to an ideal by what the differences are between gears. I believe the ribcase has pretty good steps between the gears. I have driven some 4 and 5 speed's that had lousey spacing between gear's.
