RHD Mustang

Here's Sir John Whitmore driving an original Alan Mann Mustang at the Goodwood Revival.

Normally, this would just be pretty cool, but note that the Mann Mustang is right-hand drive! (unlike the Falcon and Barracuda behind him)

I know that some Mustangs and Ford Falcons were built-up in Australia and I'd guess they were RHD too.

Very cool.

I want one... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

A Friend of mine picked up a '56 Ford Ute. This would have been a Ranchero here in the states, but the Ranchero didn't actually start until '57. It was right hand drive. A very unique vehicle here. He paid someone a bunch of money to convert it to LHD. He said he just couldn't drive a car with the steering wheel on the "wrong" side.
My current daily driver is a RHD Riley Elf. Lots of people tell me my steering wheel is on the wrong side. I just tell them it has always been on the right side, even though it may not be on the CORRECT side.

Hey isn't that a 65 Plymouth Barracuda behind that Stang?

Yep, it's a '65. Sponsored by Red Bull Racing and driven by F1 driver, Vitantonio Liuzzi. He drives for Scuderia Toro Rosso (the old Minardi team).

The red '63 Ford Fairlane in the extreme right side of the photo is Jackie Oliver. He eventually won.
I'm pretty sure that the red Ford Cortina is being driven by Narain Karthikeyan. He's a present-day F1 driver for the Jordan team.
Elsewhere in that picture are John Fitzpatrick, Derek Bell, Tony Dron, Bobby Rahal, Alan Jones...some real *greats*!

Hey Nial...you sure he just didn't get in the wrong side of car and too embarassed to get out?...I get in on the left all the time on my RHD'ers...Whoa what happened to the wheel...lol

I recall watching one of the highlight shows of the Targa Newfoundland, and I believe that one of years there was a RHD Mustang in the race (from Australia of course), perhaps even this one here...

You're right, I remembered that too as soon as you mentioned it.

That was a yellow '67 driven by the Cattlins. They won in 2002, I think (the Mann Mustang is a '65).

Here the Cattlin's car:
