Rewiring Boot Wiring

As some know, I am working in the boot of my 65 B' and I am trying to clean things up back there, and fix the DPO wiring that was done eons ago.

I am considering getting the proper color wire from British Wiring, and using a connector to cut the original harness wires, and attach them to the new wires.

I am planning to replace the entire harness down the road, but my budget for getting the B' running has been blown.

I have not dealt with BW as yet, and was wondering if some out there might have an opinion one way or the other.

Many thanks.

Shouldn't be a problem Ron. They'll be helpful.

The car you have was equipped with soldered bullet connectors when it left th' Isles. BW has the right connectors for it.

I was looking at the crimp tool that they have, and I really like buying tools, but that is kind of steep for a tool I think.

I will probably solder them. Their catalog leaves something to be desired at best. I have been working on an order for them. I do like the prices on most of the stuff, but the tool is kind of a lot right now.

I just read my post, and it has some horrible grammar. You will have to excuse me, I have been up since 0400. Had to take GFs mom for surgery this morning and I just got home.

Solder 'em Ron. Still the best way to deal with automotive wiring connections AFAIC.

Ron - You are taking the right approach to correct the boot wiring in your car. I would suggest getting the crimp bullets and solder them to the wires, they solder easier than the ones designed for soldering (go figure). Before starting the work, look at the article, Electrical Connection Preparation in the Other Tech Articles on my web site at: https://homepages.donobi.net/sufuelpumps/ for tips on making good, long lasting connections.
Cheers,

Thanks guys, I always like to solder instead of crimp. I guess I was just looking for the fast way out. Like most projects, I just want to get it done, but now after getting over my initial hurry, I will slow down and do it right.

Back to the catalog.
