revolutions 13 X 5.5

Afetr all my winter projects I wanted to look for another set of wheels to eventually be used for dry. Im not particularly crazy about superlites. Does anyone still offer revolutions? Did a few internet searches but didnt find anything.

You can still get them, but they are real expensive, normally special order, expect to pay as much as $300 or so a wheel. Superlite has a GTR racing version which are $170.00 each, I'm a Superlite dealer, on my site listed below you can see a picture on the wheels page of the 13x5.5" GTR race wheel, it lighter than the street version. Of course it's same ole minilite looking wheel in a race weight version, but the price on them for a race weight wheel is hard to beat. I can also tell you form experiance with wheel and the Spridgetech body work, you'll need to run about 1" wheel spacer to get near allowed track (SCCA), the Spridgetech bodywork is nice, but it sticks out alot further than Huffaker, Prodbodies (formally Japco) or the rest. Here's a picture of a car I built with the Spridgetech bodywork and 13x5.5 Revolution, with a 3.5" backspace running .750" wheel spacers and as you can see the wheels are still tucked in the bodywork more than I like, and those are 8" wide cantilever slicks.

I'll add this, after using many body kit, I really like the Spridgetech body, however if I could change anything about it (and I would make changes to all the other offerings as well) it would be to have smaller wheel openings (they are huge) and for the flares to stick out a little less.

Flares do stick out a bit more than I like to even with six inch wheels and 3" bs there still tucked quite a bit.

Jeff 5.5 was all I ever seen. Thought was all that was available. Did find a website though looks like $800 to $1000 may be for a set

Hap those wheels on the Buster car are a close match to what I am looking for. GTR I guess. They Are available threw Acme? What is the weight on those?

Scott the wheels on "Buster" are Revolutions, that car was built before we were Superlite dealers, They are 13x5.5s with a 3.5" backspacing. here's a picture of the GTRs, they are also 13x5.5, but we also have 13x6" as well, the 13x5.5s have a backspacing of 4.00" and are $170 a wheel, they weight 9.3 pounds each.

Those are real nice Hap. Do you have 13 X 6's. May be saving some rewards points up for a nice set of light dry tires/ wheels.

Yes on the 13x6"s Thats the same size all SCCA Spridgets run now. Some vintage guys try to stick 13x6 under steel fenders, most go with 13x5.5. Something else to remember, you guys run different tires, once you get wide with wheels and tires on a Spridget you may end up going to offset rear springs to clear the tires, either way fiquire on running some wheel spacers, and the flares give you room to work with, unlike a unflared car.

Yes I am running 215's now with about 3/4inch gap to the spring and a 3"BS. So if I get the same tires shaved and run a 4 BS with at least a 1/2" spacer I should be okay. I believe my rules say I can only run with a max 1/2" Spacer though. Are thouse superlitres availe with any other BS than 4"?

Yes there is a 13x6 with a 3.5' BS, which was designed for the SCCA flared fender cars, thank me for that one, it was my request that made that happen /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Thats a UK site, ship a set of Revolutions from the UK and see what that cost, you'll need CPR when you get the shipping and broker bills /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

OH and why we're on the subject of dual SUs, Scott there is a Euro dual HS4 1500 complete set up on Ebay right now, with a day left in the auction, the bid is only $49.00 right now (way under market value of say $150 for a rebuildable core assembly). On Ebay motors search SU, you'll see it, that would be a nice future addition to your car.
