TR6 Reverse light wiring harness routing

Hey all:

While I'm changing the frame out from under my 6, I thought I may as well address my lack of reverse lights--The sw is there and seems to work, but there are no wires--So...Where were the wires supposed to run to (and how do they get there--through the transmission cover? Under it? Out the shift housing? Drivers side? Off side?), so as I can start looking?

<Stay tuned, next up will be "to shim or not to shim the body--whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer outrageous panel chasms, or to take armfuls of 'c' shims against the rising door gap..." >

Thanks-

BobH

You should find a hole with a grommet in the transmission tunnel, passenger side, nearer the top and firewall (sort of under the end of the radio). The wires should feed through that grommet with bullet connectors. If you've got overdrive, I think there is a separate sub harness for that. I think different year models have different number of wires -depending on neutral interlock etc.

Thanks, Tex.

That'll help speed this up a bit.

Aloha Bob,

My interior happens to be out so I took a shot of what TK described. Mine is a 74.5 and has connections for neutral safety and reverse switches.
