rev. lights

NO rev lights. i have power at the switch on the tranny (both of them?) but nothings getting to the light assembly or the hook up to the assembly. according to the diagram there is a connection between the switch and light. i followed the wire witch ran up to the engine and tested the group of connections. all are good. i have to be missing one right???

on a side note the speedometer no longer counts miles and i am going faster then it says i am. i would guess the gauge bc of the lack of counting. how far off am i?

If you are running a 78 MGb the trans filler should be a plug on the side of the trans. If its got a top fill/and dipwand then its a earlier trans. The full syncro MGB trans up to the rubber bumper car has 1280 turns per mile speedo and the later ones have 1000 TPM. If you have the correct trans then its probably the speedo...??? Or gear at the bottom of the cable in the trans. The connection for the reverse lights are in the mess at the passenger side firewall under the hood. You should have power to one side of the trans switch till its put in reverse. Then both terminals will have power. Back at the connection the solid green wire will be the power wire to the reverse lights and the one going to the actual lights is ???green with a brown ?? tracer..check that the wire comming up from the trans -heading to the actual lights has power on both sides of the connection at the firewall.. Man, i hope all this makes sence..Bob

sadly it does make sense with switch on, both sides have power. but like i said i found two switches on the (side plug) tranny. both have power on each terminal. all connections in that mess are working. the wire from the actual light is grean with no power coming. power at the switch all connection good no lights??? what am i missing. how can i tell if the gear for the speddo is shot?
