Hi, my name is David Kiehna. I'm 21, and currently a student at Mississippi State University.
I have owned my 1974 MGB since the summer of 2001. It has been driven nearly 30,000 miles since the day I got it running after it had sat under a tarp outside for a time and in a garage. The car has always been a rolling restoration. I started with sill replacements on both sides, a quick engine refresh, new top, and new paint. Now a spare engine has been built from a bare block up to being topped off with a Ported head. The interior has received Prestige Auto Trim carpets and a stayfast top. I have converted over to saddle leather miata seats. The Bosch alternator helps power the Hella E-code H4 headlamps and my 8" Marchal 902 rally lamps.
In the past 3 years it seams that every nut and bolt on the car has been touched as one point or another. The one thing I have not had one problem with is the original wiring harness!!
I drive it year round rain, snow, or shine. I drive it hard and put it away wet. The engine is putting out a healthy 115 hp at the crankshaft and the suspension is rebuilt with poly and V8 bushings. The overdrive helps me cruise comfortably at 75 mph on the interstate while returning 32-35 mpg. Top speed is a bit over 110 mph with my Smoothline hardtop installed. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif
I'm hooked on MGBs for life and will keep my first and current MGB till the day I die.
