TR2/3/3A Restoring Smiths heaters as fitted to a 1959 Triumph TR-3A

Hello BCF friends. I've had a number of requests for my article regarding the Smiths heaters fitted to many sports cars in the 50's and 60's. Apparently it had been deleted from this forum, perhaps due to my absence these past few years. Fortunately, I found the original msword file and was able to upload it to the articles area. After review you can access the article. I hope you find it useful.

Best regards,
Frank

Thanks, Frank! Yeah, they updated the forum about 5 years ago, so most of the earlier posts, although still buried here somewhere, are not easy to find.

If the motor works but you have a bad core there is a replacement core available. It is the same diameter but a bit thinner. so some modification is required.
I got my replacement core from Holden Classic in the UK. It comes with shorter clips to hold the heater together.

The repaired heater works great.
