Restoring a 71 B

Hi, I'm in the process of restoring a 71 B. Right now I'm removing all of the exterior and interior parts in hopes of having the body acid dipped in prep for all new paint. So far so good. I have been thinking of installing a wire wheel front end and rear end that I have from a 77 B that I just bought. It just occured to me that maybe since I've removed the rear end that a independent rear suspension might be a terrific upgrade. Has anyone in the forum had experience with this upgrade? I heard of a guy that did this conversion but I've lost his web site address so I can't get the info he had posted. I'm I crazy or what? I'd also like to swap the engine out to a V6. I guess I'm a glutten for punishment. But if all this is possible then I'll have one great ride.
Thanks for the help. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

IRS rear conversions are not for the faint of heart, and frankly, I don't think they're worth it.. in good shape, the B live axle does a good job... better than most of the IRS designs from its era.
