Has anyone had any restoration work done near San Diego CA? I am considering restoring a 1958 Triumph TR-3A that my father bought in 1959. Car is complete and has only minor surface rust. It has been stored inside for years and years. I also have a parts car complete except the two front fenders.

There is a fairly active Triumph club in SD that you might consider joining. They'll know more about the local scene.

I don't have any direct experience, but I've heard good things about

Another good contact (about 80 miles N of SD) is Bert Bennett. He's the western region VTR rep, and knows alll sorts of shops (as well as knowing his Triumphs). You can find his contact info at http://www.sctoa.org/SCTOA/Contact_Us.html

Be careful with restoration shops. I bought my car from a lady who paid $30,000 for a restoration that only got half way done.
I have redone almost everything they did to it.
It's also a 1958 with only light rust. Drives good now except that I'm getting air in the right front brake cylinder which they rebuilt.
