Greetings,

Does anyone have an recommendations for a restoration shop near Connecticut? any info, good or bad would be great!

Thanks!

What about F40 Motorsports in Portland, CT run by Wayne Carini of "Chasing Classic Cars"? No direct experience but he looks like he knows what he's doing. Google it for more info.

I used to run a one-man restoration shop in Huntington LI but no longer - specialized in European sports cars. I turned away work due to lack of time and because there didn't seem to be anyone else on the Island who was sympathetic to LBCs.

Highland Automotive (Gabe Delgiudice, Pete Genovese)
Rt. 9W
P.O. Box 412
Highland, N.Y. 12528
(914) 691-2265

Here's Gabe's BT7 that he turned into a 2 seater with a 100 rear shroud. He does some beautiful work.

my thoughts on these shops unless your looking to do a concourse car and spend in the area of around 75g one might want to go to a healey guy if you just need metal and some body work you can get the same results by going to a good body and fender guy.all the restoration shops are overpriced and take forever because they are mostly mom and pop businesses ,if you can do some of the work u can save alot of money,

Thank you all for the advice and the leads. I do like CCC, and sent Wayne an email a week or so ago, but haven't heard back. I may take a ride up there in the next several weeks to see his shop.

I've been restoring boats(donzi, cigarette, whaler, sea craft) for years and have too many projects right now to take this on...and cars are not my expertise anyway. I'll give Highland a call to guage their interest.

I'm certainly not looking to do a concourse restoration, but want a REAL NICE driver...and something that will be reliable...

In Connecticut I would call Sports and Classics. Sadly, I forget the owner's name, (John?) but he is the guy who usually answers the phone. Here is the contact info with a picture of the car they built for the movie The Royal Tannenbaums.

Tell him what you want to do and he will help you with the process. If there are aspects of the restoration he does not do, he can tell you who to use. He has been in this business for decades. You may have seen his numerous auctions on e-bay.
