Re: Resto up-date

Yes, and honestly, yours isn't that bad; I've seen__and worked on__Healeys that you could open the door and walk up to the transmission...

Re: Resto up-date

I was lucky whenever the car sat for long periods it was on a dry concrete floor in a dry climate. I was surprised to see patch panels from the 70's high on the rear fenders just below the silver finisher trim piece. How the heck did rust get up there on both sides.

Re: Resto up-date

Also bdcvg, i'm looking for a similar resto with my '59 100-6 and was curious where Four in Tune was and was not able to get to their website. Is it in the Greater Cincinnati area?

Thanks,

Re: Resto up-date

Yes Tom had the car for 2 weeks and wrote up a 40 plus page detailed price package including options.

Re: Resto up-date

More pics nothing like the classic look of old English white

Re: Resto up-date

I agree with Bill, Fourintune has got to be one of the best Healey shops out there. You should get back a great car when done.

Body is on.

The one pic shows the grille and grille surround in place. Are they leaving that in place for the final painting of the car? Doing so would eliminate the problem of scratching the paint, so that might be the way to do it.

I think it's on there because they match the bodywork to the grille so there won't be any gaps when all is said and done. The grille will come off for painting. Someone more knowledgeable will hopefully chime in and correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm 99.99% sure you are correct ;)

Re: Resto up-date

The reason I asked the question was that I'm at a similar stage with the front shroud and grille surround on the BJ7 project. So as not to hijack this thread, I will raise this as a separate topic.

Re: Resto up-date

Now it's time for a few weeks of prime, sand fill repeat.
