Anyone had to replace the outer Wheel Well sheet metal? I have to cut out to replace the right rear Wheel Well panel on my MGC. How difficult is it? I don't do welding so I was thinking of using metal bonding epoxy.

Recommendations?

Thanks

Sorry, have never done that. But the little experience I have had with metal bonding adhesive has been positive. Especially in non-structural applications. I would think you'd be OK with it. Let us know how it works.

We've had excellent results with the SEM 39747 panel bonding epoxy. Did some "unscientific" but practical testing before using it, bonded steel-to-steel pieces and aluminum/aluminum ones. Tortured the joints in various ways; bending the joined areas well beyond any 'real world' conditions, impacted the joints with a BFH, with no failure of the bonds.

I also tried the 3m product. I had a group over to learn how to weld and told them about the product. I had glued various pieces of metal together and asked the group to test the bonding. NOBODY could get them apart. I don't know how many years they will last.
