I bought a Kilmartin frame through British Car Specialists, as well as many chassis parts for my Mark II, BN7. I was extremely impressed with how identical it is to the original, and how well the chassis parts fit together. I had the most trouble with the rear inner fenders, but Kilmartin does not make those, so they came from England. You can buy the frame parts individually, but it was well worth the additional $1900 to have the basic frame professionally welded together dimensionally correct. From there, it was then possible to assemble and weld together the rest of the chassis without requiring special fixtures (of course it required many assembly trials of the body components to get final alignment).

One down side of Kilmartin is that it may be a long wait. It was about 4 months from order until they built the frame, and then it took another 6 weeks to be shipped from Australia.

Good Luck,
Paul

Thanks for the post Alan. I looked at Weiler-Knight's website. I Didn't see any examples of "what they sell" (Frame/chassis parts), shown. Did you purchase a frame/chassis from them?

I have a BN4 with a Jule frame. It is currently in Wicker's body shop, Kendallville, IN (www.wickerizedhealey.com) and should have the paint ready to go on this week.
I am real happy with the Jule frame but have some details that could be improved if you are thnking of trying one. Incidently, you can spot one real easy at the next Healey car show. Look under the front cross member. The bottom is not even with the two main frame rails. This allows the brakes lines and wiring to be up and outof the way, not under the frame as original. One word of caution, it is not concours!
Wicker has done the body work on several Jule frame cars and is happy with the frame as it has less give and therefore less "body readjustment" after a few miles.

You can see one I bought:

I got it used from someone that found their original chassis was better than they thought. I believe that it originated with SC Parts.

www.scparts.co.uk

Is their website, though it is pretty unuseable- you'd do better to e-mail and ask them directly about such items.

I also know that the UK Healey Centre do replacement chassis too, though theirs appear to include "improvements":

https://www.ukhealey.co.uk/new_chassis.htm

is a page devoted to it.

Hope this helps.
