Replace original suspension for shocks?

Anyone have any experience with replacing the original set up with the modification kits? Interested in how the car handles and also which manufacturers skit to purchase.

I purchased and installed Putske's Bilstein kit a number of years ago. I like them and have had no problems. I don't race the Healey so have no way of giving you any quantitative evaluation as to performance/handling benefit but they do feel good and though opinions may differ I believe that tube shocks are inherently superior to levers.

Armstrong dampers as fitted to Healeys were never much good and they didn't last long, so Konis or Billsteins would, I'm sure, be noticeably better than the originals and last longer. This would be more noticeable on the front because there's no friction in coils to mask the problem. My BJ7 has nearly new OEM fronts and above eight, the front is obviously underdamped.
