Replace clutch disk?

Since I have the engine and transmission out of the car during the restoration, I thought I might replace the clutch disk even though it has only 18,000 miles on it since it was replaced. When I removed it, it looked fine with no damage. I compared the thickness of the old disk to a new one I purchased to install. They both measured .34 inches across the friction material so it doesn't look like the old dish has worn. The old dish is a Borg and Beck, the new one has no name but I purchased it from Moss.

What are your thoughts? Should I go ahead and install a new disk at this point or just reinstall the old one? I know Borg and Beck is a well know company, but I'm not sure of the quality of the new disk, although it looks OK. The old one has a thicker collar where the transmission shaft goes. I can always return the new disk if I don't use it.

I would stay with the old one the quality of Moss products are going down I'm loosing faith in them I bought a set of magnacore plugs that they advertised for a healey and on the box it clearly stated they were for a tr6 still waiting to get my credit card credited

My clutch got oil on it and started slipping even though it was not significantly worn. If yours was working fine with no oil impregnation, slipping or judder, I'd reuse it. I got my replacement Borg & Beck clutch and pressure plate from Healey Surgeons.

Should I go ahead and a n reinstall the old Borg and Beck:----YEP don't come any better

The pilot bushing was replaced recently and appears good. The throw out bearing has worn down about 1/16" compared to the new one so I will replace that. There was some carbon or graphite dust on the center up of the clutch which I assume was from the normal wear on the throw out bearing. Anyone know how much I should torque the bolts for the clutch plate to flywheel?

Pressure plate bolts are 5/16 or bout 8mm, same diam. as rocker nuts which are listed as 27 ft lbs. 50 is likely to shear bolts, I wouldn't go over 30 ft lbs.flywheel to crank bolts are 50 ft lbs - larger & harder grade bolts. cheers
