TR2/3/3A Repairing SU linkage bell crank and pivot?

I've gotten the slop out of the carb linkage except for the lever bell crank hole(371-420) where the pivot(371-420)enters. I've heard that the aftermarket ones may have the holes located in the wrong spots for the bell crank and that the pivot is N/A.......so I was wondering if any DIY fabricators on here have tried filling the hole with JB weld and or welding it and carefully re drilling the hole to remove excessive play? Also is it possible to build up the "pivot pin" and sand it to return to round if worn? Too much play at the bellcrank. Karl
