Just sharing out a potentially useful suggestion. I had my car up on jack stands doing my annual service with the grease gun when I noticed a large tear in the right hand steering rack boot. The tear was on the end of the boot nearest the tie rod end - and on the leading/high edge of the bellows. The tear was nearly 270* around the boot.
Not looking forward to having to separate the rack from the tie rod, replace the boot and perform a full re-alignment to reset the toe angle, I repaired it by using No Run/Gel Super Glue. I sparingly dabbed a small amount on one edge of the tear all the way around. I then pressed the tear together moving along the tear, holding each spot for 60 seconds until the bond held (and being very careful not to bond my fingers to the boot!). OMG this worked amazingly well. The boot is fully repaired and holding strong.
TBH, I probably tore it while it was on the jack stands (suspension in full droop) and I cut the steering wheel full right to access the grease zerk on the right trunnion.
