Well, it is too cold to work in my unheated "garage" (see picture attachment) so am just building up a folder of things to do and how to do them. Current question: How do I remove the chrome trim strips from the sides? I f there are clips or ? are replacements available?

At the very front and rear of the car there are clips which are held in place by nuts on the inside of the fenders. Remove these nuts first. Next, gently pop thetrim pieces off one snap at a time. I don't think there are any other clips, just snaps. Replacing is a straight reversal of the process. Just be careful no to scratch the paint or ding the trim pieces. I use my fingers unless the snaps are really tight in which case I wrap a broad flat-bladed screwdriver in tape and use that.
 
One stud clip in the middle of each door too. Slide a well used plastic bondo spreader up to the bottom of the trim then use a very flat to sharp screw driver over the spreader and under the trim at the edge of clip then twist. Best to start at the door ends of the trim pieces, one clip over from the stud clip. Altho on some days I have been tempted to use a claw hammer.
 
When removing the trim pieces, as stated prviously, remove the nuts on the studs, the i used a old church key to remove the trim, the same one's you used to use to remove the bottel caps off of pop bottles. Just be gentle and you will come out with no dents or dings. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif
 
Thanks, all. Box, do you mean that the stud clip in the door has a nut inside the door? That sounds like the door panel and all that stuff would have to come off too. True?

I picked up a bunch of plastic 'orange sticks' at the drugstore -- these also work well when I need some non-scratching leverage for trim & seals.
