I am trying to remove the old heater control valve from my TR6 and replace it with a new one but I can’t seem to get it to unscrew. Not much clearance to hit it with a rubber mallet. Any ideas?

The valve itself actually screws into the extension that is threaded into the block. They are two separate pieces which you can try to separate or remove them together and split them on a work bench. I would attempt the latter as the tubing with the hexagonal flats is steel and the valve body is pot metal (or something less robust). You might need some heat to get them apart…

Thank you! I thought about heat but was worried about being that close to the carburetors. Taking out the whole set before applying heat makes more sense.
