removing the Bearing RACE

Okay so i was working on the 75 today and i removed the front Hub bearings. well the frist one Poped out with out the Race so all the ball Bearings went flying everwhere. now i cant figure out how to get the race out of the Hub. Any Suggestion
 
There are 2 notches from the opposite side where you can use a stout screwdriver or suitable drift to beat them out.
 
I kinda Thought that was how they came out but was not sure i did not want to beat them out and find out i fudged something up. I was Amazed at the prices a FLAPS wants for Wheel Bearings. Advance wanted 63 Bucks a PC for them. I order both bearings and the seal for 50 out of VB. Crazy!

I upgraded to tapered rollers on both of mine and got the bearing for about 10 bucks a piece at advance. Someone here has the numbers. They are a lot tougher than the old thrust type ball bearings.
 
You may recall that I just found out my rear bearings are MGB bearings. was talking to a friend yesterday who suggested I just go buy bearings (rather than VB or Moss) he said, they would have the numbers. He also said I could get the oil seal (not the paper one & o-ring) any thoughts any one? or does it just make sense to go Moss for convenience and assurace? If anyone has just gone to an auto supply place, do you have part #'s?

John. I usually buy all my bearings and seals at my local parts store. I'm fortunate to have a good one just around the corner.
I don't have part numbers handy, but they should be in the bearing catalogues. If you wish, I'll run up to the store today and look them up for you.

For modern bearings, I show...

Inner: 30205
Outer: 30303

(Both Federal Mogul)

Rubber seals (with spring inside) show no p/n, but are marked NOK SC 34.13 53.95 7.9. I would assume that to be ID, OD and width.

Haven't fitted them up yet, so if someone could confirm, that'd be great.
 
do we know the race #'s I know we've been through this many times but I'am also saving it this time getting ready for this winters list of work thanks

definately rears - I'll probably just order them - likely my "guy" has them in stock & I'll drive over this week. (BTW - not the same "guy" who sent the wrong bearings initially)
 
thanks - I went ahead and ordered the Moss ones - will be at the Bronte Car Show for me Sunday - I'm going to record the #'s though for next time
 
You will never in your life time need new rear bearings on that vehicle. With proper maintance they will last 30 to 40 years of regular use.

And while it was apart I changed Miss Agathas as well.
 
I'm with you both -- I've got a new set on hand for Tunebug...
