General Tech Removing Piston Wrist Pin

It appears I can tap out my gudgeon pins with a few good blows from a rubber hammer, using an extra wrist pin as a tool, but I’m wondering if I might be damaging the connecting rod bearing and whether it might be better to heat the piston in boiling water or with a heat gun. Is that something people regularly do, or for Triumphs are they usually just pounded out?

The pin is normally a sliding fit in the piston and connecting rod, so if it doesn't slide, it's probably just gunked up. You should be able to tap it out easily. I don't see how that would damage the conn rod bearing.
