removing nut for steering rack pinion gear

any ideas what to ask my neighborhood snap-on man for to get the spanner that removes the nut holding in the pinion gear in my steering rack assy for my tr7? i cant see inside the rack (while installed) but i think it is similar to an axle nut used on subaru's except on a smaller scale.
