Removing backing plate -drum brakes

was working on the rear axels and drum brakes on my 65 sprite and would like to remove the rear drum plate on the right side so I can clean it up and install new wheel cylinder. Have removed the 4 bolts holding plate to the hub now what? Unable to get the hub off or axel out on that side, axel turns freely. I do not see any other bolts, screws or nuts to remove. Is the axel possibly held in place by a clip inside the rear differential? The left axel easily sliped out
