Removing '79 rocker trim?

How do I get the rocker trim and letters off. I'm assumiong the letters pop right off. How about the trim piece?

Letters pop off, there is a nylon plug that they fit into. Keep them if you can they are a tad more expensive than i expected them to be.

Trim is hooked on a small clip. Clip is sharp on top and rounded on the bottom so, it "hangs" on the top and pushes in on the bottom. Carefully pry it from the bottom.

Having said that, when i took mine apart, i didn't note the orientation of the clips and my body guy removed them. When i reinstalled them, i did so in that orientation assuming it to be the logical way. These are British Cars so there is a chance what i am describing is upsidedown but i don't think so.

Regardless, they will "pop" off.

Agree with the orientation of the clips and the removal process but would suggest you try to save the clips if possible.
Realize they probably are not the same but the repacement clips for the side trim on the early cars would not fit. The ones I used had to be ground a bit to work so I used mostly original's.

Kurt.

There is a nut and bolt type arrangement at the front of the trim. Once you remove that, just put a screwdriver under the bottom side of the trim and it pops right off.

Thanks morris - forgot abot the nut - it's in the wheel well isn't it?
