Remove pitting on chrome rings??

After sitting outside for 3 years, the chrome rings around the guages inside my MGB GT have a slight "Pitting" on them. Is there somthing that will smooth them out or are they toast?

Don't know if it will help yours, but I used steel wool and a little Bon Ami cleanser on mine, and the results were impressive. Not mint, but certainly presentable.

Aloha,

I use one of those tooth brush size brass bristle brushes. It will clean up rust without damaging the chrome then follow with a chrome polishing product. Walmart, NAPA etc are where I find these brushes.

Make sure you use the finest steel wool you can find as not to scratch the chrome. 0000 is a good place to start.
 
By reducing the mound arond the hole, it looks smaller.
 
a hole huh? a hole lot of pitts in the chrome or fill up a hole in the chrome? i just got some gray epoxy and filled it up and you really cant tell unless you look really close
